Hey musicians! Here's a place to post the pieces you're learing (or would recommend), and to tell everyone what instruments you play! Lyrics and original compositions are welcome too!

I play the piano, and I would definitely recommend learning Solfeggio in Cm. It's a very impressive show piece! And also Moonlight Sonata. Anyone know of some not-too-impossibly-hard jazz pieces? Anyone else writes lyrics?

Try Erwin Schulhoff's 'Suite Nr. 3 for the left Hand, Preludio'. If you get really desperate, you could always try the theme song for Max Rebo's band from Star Wars!!!!!

Are you talking about C.P.E. Bach's Solfeggietto (spelling???) in cm, or a different piece? I write lyrics, but... you already knew that!

Well I'm a performing artist... just participated as an alumni in my performing arts uni's special grad items this year (first time they've done alumni stuff...) and idk I kinda do everything, major in dance but i sing play gat, keys, bass, drums and act... idk I like hearing a great christian song and if it has twidly bits I like learning them. ATM im learning beautiful ending by barlow girl. I know never alone by barlow girl and only hope by switchfoot.

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

i play Piano(8yrs) and flute(7yrs)
i am working on learning "Moonlight Sonata" by Betoveen its a very sad peice. there are 5 pages of insanity.. haha not really, i have the hardest time reading music, so when i play, its mostly by ear or watching some one play.
I play flute in a school band of 30. we are working on "sleigh ride" its a bit hard.(sight reading) lol

I took violin lessons for six years. I haven't been in lessons for about a year and a half, but I play at church for the worship service. I also know a few guitar chords and can do djembe (and African drum). Piano is my main instrument. My current pieces are: Chopin's Berceuse Op. 57, Standchen No. 7 from Schwanengesang (Schubert, arr. Liszt), Danse du Meunier, by de Falla, and A Hermit Thrush at Eve by Beech. I'm also preparing a couple Christmas pieces for auditions.

Guitar for about three years now, I played piano for several, violin for a few. I do write both music and lyrics, however my current project is incidental music for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

As far as learning music... I'm currently working on Operator by Jim Croce, Money For Nothing by Dire Straits, Turn by The Byrds, There She Goes by The La's... and I'm gonna start Treasure In Heaven by The Smalltown Poets today or tomorrow.

Oh, and plug for a friend, this weekend, I have a friend releasing an indie electronica album, I've only heard samples of his progress, but it should be good. He's produced it over the course of one year, on a budget of $1000, and it'll be a free release. You can get it on Saturday at http://www.theredlineproject.com/

Correction: Treasure in Heaven by Burlap to Cashmere, not Smalltown Poets.

Guitar for about two years. Circumstance have kinda made me lose touch though. My list of music to learn when I get back is "One Step at a Time" by Mike Zito, "Hey! Toughen Up!" by Candye Kane and "Levee Prayer" by Jimmy Thackery.

Also, thinking of picking up the harp (harmonica). Should be fun!

One step at time,
I trust these feet of mine,
To carry me on to where I belong.
