I agree with a lot of you and AllieRay. I don't think there is a safe alternative. If we can make out that you're a girl you already lost. You are going to be attractive as long as we can tell you are a girl or a woman. If I saw a girl swimming in jeans and a hoodie I'm still going to be attracted to her the same I was before. I would definitely think she is weird though. Why is she swimming without a bathing suit?

How is showing an attractive figure (in a fitted bathing suit, which most are) different from showing skin (maybe by wearing a bikini)?

If it can be made out your a girl, than praise God! I wouldn't want to be mistaken as a man. But if all of your legs are showing, stomach, all your back, well, really what isn't covered? I don't want other men seeing almost as much as my husband will. If 3/4 of you is undressed, tehn you're saving that 1/4 for your husband. How cheap. At least put shorts on or a higher top. A beautiful girl won't necessarily make a guy fall, a girl pretty well undressed is.

Great way to put it, Clare. I want to save as much of me as I can for my husband. :]

Yeah Clare, I really like the way you put it. I agree with you too, Rose. I'm saving as much as I can!

okay i dislike bikinis because all the girls that i see wearing them, well they act all snobby and like "oh i'm amazing and look at me cuz i'm wearing underwear and a bra..."

i personally don't wear one because i'm slightly over weight and i feel that it only makes me look fatter so i kind of like the one pieces or tankinis because they cover my belly and don't make me feel so selfconscious.

how do you explain to a young 10 year old girl why she shouldn't wear a bikini?

Well..when I was a kid and it was pouring down rain my younger brother and I always wanted to strip to our underwear and go run in the rain!lol but when I was 7 mom said I couldn't do it anymore. I was baffled and she said that big girls shouldn't run around in their underwear. So my little brother got to breeze around and I couldn't. I guess that applies to swim wear, guys get to take their shirts off girls can't. breezing around in next to nothing..I find a little disgraceful!

Im not allowed to wear a bikini. I am perfectly fine with it, wouldn't it feel awkward?
2 years ago my little brother(now is 8) was taking swimming lessons at the local pool, 2 of the lifeguards/teachers were wearing bikinis, they were just high school students, and the pool board had a rule at one time ALL lifeguards MUST wear a onepeice, so any ways when my mom went to pick him up he said" hey mom my teachers are wearing a bra and underwear!" i dint even know he knew what a bra was but he did...boy did my mom freak she had a little talk with them but they still wear bikinis. so after that my parents went and bought an above ground pool.

I don't think bikinis are very modes(dude talkin here) and I live in a very rule middle of know where kind of town, where there is extremely little thought to modesty. When my church has a pool party at the local pool, there is I think one girl who wore a bikini, and during the first month of summer we go to a church camp and the rule for girls is 'NO Bikinis'. So I think it is sorta in between for that. But overall I'm am against bikinis cause they reveal to much.

Okay, i totally agree with what everyone is saying, and i have always been very shy and self concious(sorry bout the spelling) of myself, but at the same time i like wearing a bikini. it make's me feel female and good about myself. yeah i don't think girls should let everything hang out but you can be modest in a two peice. i have a habit of buying a bikini and putting swimming trunks on over the bottoms but thats basically it.

During the summer our youth group goes swimming alot and i always wear a t-shirt over my top but when its just me and some friends hanging at the lake or something, i fell i can still be decent without being entirely clothed the hole time. i don't do it to be Sexy and it isn't always what you wear, but how you present yourself.

I was Aeropostale yesterday and they have one of the COOLEST things I think I have ever seen: They look like bermuda shorts, but they're made out of swimsuit material! I am totally going to go get some (as soon as I get some money) :)

I have to say that I only wear one piece's just because that's all my parents will allow me and plus I'm not in the best shape since I'm a little overweight. My sister who is in much better shape then me and doesn't have love handles wants to get a bikini to where under a surf shirt just because it's easier to change in and out of then a one piece where you have to wrestle the thing on. I think as long as you don't get a string bikini and you wear a surf shirt, tanktop, or tshirt on top, their fine. We'd prefer a tankini but their so hard to find.

It amazes me how many girls have some hard times shopping for a swimsuit. My sister has that problem. But would it be immodest for a guy if he went swimming shirtless? What if hes all ripped?
