Some of my guy friends are really perverted.  They say perverted things all the time, and it really bothers me.  How am i supposed to respect them when they are not respecting me?

o.k wen guys r like that that its plain gross.make it clear that u don't appreciate how they'r talking round you. mite b hard but its the right thing to do and you might even get they'r respect out of it.:)

There's not a lot you can do, we are all sinful but some guys can be pretty bad :/ A lot of them are much worse around their friends though. I suppose it's good to be able to ignore it but unfortunately integrity really isn't very common anymore.

yeah, it can be quite hard... and if it doesn't stop, and you've done all you can, it might be time to remove the said people from your immediate friends... just cuz you don't need to have negitive influences around you. you can still be friends, but at least if you back off from them, they might get the message that it's not cool!

Yeah, sometimes you can't do anything about that kind of stuff. But I do know what your talking about. Some of the stuff the guys at work gets way out of control sometimes. It's like I can't believe you just said that.

when guys say perverted things I usually give them a very cold stare that makes them shift around and get really un comfortable. make it clear you find it disgusting!

I hear ya. I've been in that awkward position where everyone is laughing at something that is not funny or going on and on about something perverted.
I've found the best thing to do is to try and change the subject to something else that would interest them but also honor God. If they always hear positive stuff coming from you, they admire you for that. People naturally pick up on the things their friends do. If you're honoring God with your actions, chances are the people hanging out with you will start to pick up on your good conversational habits.

As a guy I can say this. If they are rude when you say stop ditch them. I know these kinds of guys and its not good to stay around them. If they stop it or cut down on it then that's good. Best way to tell them to stop or change the subject is to say someyhing along the lines of: that's gross seriosly guys thats disgusting! Can we change the subject please? If your setups and they are friends then they should stop. Us guys are silly sometimes but most of us will listen if your serios. If yhey say something gross directly to you it migjt sctually be better if you slapped them and walk away. If they apologise then it could be ok in the end but its a slim chance and you should use this as a last resort.
