But I'm not an elephant!

I see nothing wrong with eating meat, and likewise nothing wrong with not wanting to eat meat. I do think that you have a harder time getting your nutrition (not just protein) while not eating meat, and I think there are a number of doctors who would agree with me.

"First, Swedish scientists at Umea University found that young vegans (those who shun all animal products, including eggs and dairy) may be missing out on essential vitamins and minerals. Writing in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Christel L. Larson and Gunnar K. Johansson reported that vegans’ dietary habits “did not comply with the average requirements for some essential nutrients.” In particular, they found that vegans lacked appropriate levels of riboflavin, vitamin B-12, vitamin D, calcium, and selenium. "

I do realize the potential benefits of eating Vegan, such as not consuming meat with growth hormone and pesticide from the grass and such (or Cold Cuts which have higher levels of nitrates and other nasty stuff), but I also see the potential risks, and with the availability of organic meat, I think I'd rather eat that. So long as you find a way to get those vitamins and minerals though, I see nothing wrong with it, and I praise you as a fellow member of Christ's body for eating the way you think is best and not just pigging out on whatever is available, because that takes at least a certain degree of self-discipline and devotion to your ideal.

For certain though, regardless of preference of meat, I think everyone can agree that stuff with really long shelf lives that comes in boxes and such, like Cheez-its, Potato Chips, Soda, Spam, and all the kinds of artificial sweeteners or butters or cheese or whatever else are very bad for anybody.

I'm 15 and I'm probably the equal buffest guy in my grade but I'm not very fit. A couple of years ago I did chinups (or pullups) every night all year which got my arms and abs in shape but now all I do is a few minutes with a dum bell and some crunches.

I eat whatever I like and don't do much aerobic exercise which is why I'm not very good at endurence but my family usually has pretty healthy stuff around so I stay in shape.

Another thing I've noticed with people at school is you shouldn't fight your body, especially if you are still young, if you are worried about your bulges they will most likely sort themselves out. Listen to your body, if you can't bear doing pushups and so put them off most of the time do something easier or only do a few so you get used to it. Get into the habit (just before bed works well) repitition is the key to a healthy body and if you are sore don't push yourself.

Remember, guys especially, being tank isn't the most important thing in the world. I've noticed usually the guys are more impressed with my muscles than the girls are, at least they show it more. If you've got something to show, don't flaunt it, you'll just embarrass the other guys and make the girls think you are in love with yourself.

It is good to get a routine down, but I could suggest right when you get up- For me, it helps wake me up a little, and I'm not getting all worked up before I try to sleep. I have a hard time falling asleep though anyway, we eat too late =]

I would say that the main thing would be to start slow, until you know what you can do without killing yourself. Then when you know what you can do, slowly build up the intensity of your workouts. Its actually bad for your body to push it too hard or too fast. Also maybe modify your portions if you eat too much but NEVER think that theres no thing as too little because you REALLY mess up your metabolism like that. I've found though, that I don't need as much as I used to think I did to fill me up. It takes like 20 minutes for your stomach to signal to your brain that you are full, or atleast thats what I heard and so eat slow too I guess. Also I've heard that eating several small meals a day is better than eating 3 bigger sized meals because you don't get super hungry and feel the need to stuff yourself. Plus you keep your metabolism going. I think that if everyone just ate decent stuff in moderation and worked out regularly then they would all be better off. However if you have a lot of weight to lose or want to build muscle then you'll probably need to do something different. And by the way Curves is having a survey and so they have reduced rates for being a member if you agree to do the survey. Curves is just for women so idk about guys as far as a decent priced work-out thing but everyone should check it out if they're interested. Though idk if they have Curves outside of America....
