I've heard that anything that looks/seems seriously fake (hair color, tons of makeup, fake nails, even high heels) is a turn-off.
Tons of make-up, maybe fake-nails.

But, when I'm with the girl I like none of it seems to matter (Not to sound cheesy) Her new red-ish hair is really, really beautiful. Plus, both me and my mom have blonde hair, where we shouldn't. I have highlights, mom used to be blonde but it got darker.

And she wear's high heels all of the time, she is still shorter than me, until they make her taller than me, I'm not gonna notice. Not that I care about who's taller, she's done growing and she's kind of short.

I don't like mullets either. I like to keep eye contact, but not if I'm creeped out by the person's eyes (like, if they're staring or being really shifty...)
Yes to I contact. Yes.

You know people used to think Mullets were hot. I think it's always been a bunch of hair you need to cut off. Dad had one. I sort of have one but I'm getting rid of mine today.

Funny wrj! Once I was almost crying to my friend "why do guys have to like girls! Life would be so much simpler without sex, that's all guys want!" I was pretty upset about something, my friend got me on the right track!

sometimes He says yes. Sometimes He says no. Sometimes He says wait awhile....

Thank you everyone! All of your responses were (and still are) extremely helpful! :)

Just want to add one thing about a guy's appearance (since this topic seems to be about both girls' appearances and guys' appearances).

I'll admit. Sometimes I judge from how they look, but I've found many times that at first I don't think a guy is cute. Then I might talk to him (to be friends) and find out a few of his interests...just to find out more about his character. If he has interests that interest me, and can carry on a good discussion, and is friendly and nice, I might start to think, "Hmm...maybe he is sorta cute."

Seriously. I totally change my tune when I found out what kind of a person he is! When I find out his character, I'll start to point out physical traits that I like about him. Mind you, I'm saying that sometimes it happens. But it's happened multiple times!

Also, intelligence is a HUGGGGEEEEEE turn-on!!!! Nerds are awesome!!!!

Okay, let's move on to physical appearance  I like guys to be a healthy weight. Whatever is their natural build is awesome.

As for hair, anything is fine. As long as it's natural! But what is a big turn-off is guys who straighten their hair! That just doesn't seem like something guys should do! I don't know...maybe it's just me...but I don't like the idea of a guy who takes longer to get ready than I do

Claire, yeah, I understand the sentiment quite well. Maybe I just learned it early, but... you spend less than half your life asleep, so it matters just as much, if not more, that she be awesome out of bed. I was talking to Emily about what's been up with girls and me, and I might take her advise... go hide under a rock in Antarctica for five years.

Naomi, you're welcome! Yes, if you bring up what guys think of girl's appearances, we will logically want to know what you think of ours. Though, scarily, from your definition... I could have a lot more going for me than I thought. (And even worse, you aren't the first girl I've heard say that that's how she thinks.)
So, to keep conversation going, does gelled hair count as reasonably natural?

wjr--- Yeah, I think that gelled hair is reasonably natural. I like it when guys take some time on their hair. I agree with Naomi in that straightened hair is way too girly. :p

@ wjr: Yes, I'd consider gel pretty natural! :)  I mean, it takes, what, like less than 2 minutes to put on? Yep, gel is fine in my opinion!

Good... because if I don't gel my hair, it looks like I'm carrying a Von De Graff generator in my pocket. (Ok, so after I comb it five or six times, it calms down... but basically if I don't gel my hair, it might look fine tomorrow, today... very iffy maybe.)

Really?? Wow I thougth guys would notice all those things. Hey I have a wierd question! You know how some girls wear those really long fingernails (ugh I don't) what do guys think of them? I think I'd feel like Wolverine!

HAHA clare i had to laugh... wolverine is one of my favorite characters and movies :P
I'm wearing fake nails atm... just cuz yesterday I was a bridesmaid and I'm so not into manipedi's, and i didnt want to paint them, I hate painting them, so i put fakes on so i didnt have to paint them... but idk if I do fakes, i get short petite ones, cuz my hands are small. but i generally just have nothing on my nails and just make sure they look decent. most people ask me if my real nails were professionally done or if they're fake and I'm like "uh... no I just dont bite them or paint them... but I clean them" haha :P

that was random as!

BTW I LOVE blue eyes on guys
Talking about features girls notice... I got pared up with this dude at the wedding who was the groomsman and the groom's bro (y know, just for the wedding...) and he was really cute... but he had blonde hair, blue eyes, was taller than me, had nice feet (cuz it was a beach wedding and we had to wear jandals, or flipflops or thongs, whatever y'all call them) i have a thing about feet... it's weird...
the guy was kinda too tall tho... but really sweet and always asked if he could pull out my chair, help me out of a tree (cuz I decided to climb a tree in my bridesmaid dress:P ) etc etc and asked me to dance... but yeah
girls each have different things they notice... too bad this guy had a gf... :P

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

My opinion on browned eyed guys is waning. Blue are awesome...depending on the guy.
And ya Xmen is the best movies out there yet!

What did you mean wjr1991 about tomboyish short nails? I have really...really short nails because I can't stand to get anything stuck underneath them.

I never actually notice guy's experiences. I notice if they're complete slobs, but if they're decently dressed and clean I don't really pay attention. I look for personality, intelligence, manners, ability to have fun, things like that.

I mean that they keep their nails short, and that's all they do to them. They're never glossed, polished, or anything... just kept really short.

I have a question: do guys prefer girls who don't wear glasses or ones who do? Or does it matter? I have glasses although I want to get contacts, but I don't have enough money right now and I kind of hate to ask my parents to pay for them since we're tight on money this year. If I had the money though, I'd probably get them and wear them a lot.... lol. :)

I wear semi-thick rimmed glasses and my boyfriend's never had a problem with it. he loves them! and many friends I know say they "make me who I am." the glasses just kinda fit my personality and looks. I would absolutely love to have contacts to wear some, if not most of the time because I have bright blue eyes that I'm constantly getting complimented on. but for whatever reason, after trying 2 or 3 different brands (and hard and soft lenses), my eyes won't tolerate them for more than a half hour. it rots, but oh well! I think if a guy truly likes you for you, such a trivial fact as glasses or contacts won't matter at all.

You may as well come quiet.

For me anyway, glasses aren't a big deal... I think I'd prefer consistency though, they become apart of my perception of the girl.

Face is definitely #1, to me, the eyes are apart of the face. Smile, posture are both important. Too much makeup is about the worst thing you can do. But I do think some makeup is nice. I do pay attention to feet, hands, toenails and fingernails... Although mostly nails will only be noticed if they're painted. Hair color isn't that bad, fake nails are a bit of a turn off... High heels definitely are attractive though... Too much muscle is bad, but stick arms are not good. For me, I like high-energy girls. I've got lots of energy and I like to talk, and low-energy girls aren't that stimulating.

Intelligence is definitely a big thing...

I think if you've got a nice face, good intelligence, a positive energy and are already in my notice then you'll definitely be interesting. But if you blend in, then I simply won't see your personality.

I guess for me it would be someone that is either the same hight as me or a little shorter :P the face, eyes, the way they like their hair and the one of the most important to me is their ability to smile. I really think it's important that she has a good smile, so for example if your down and you see her smile i'll be little more light hearted.

Even though I'm not dating yet what I would like in a girl is a nice personality, not one of those " I'm better than you cause I'm pretty." girls. I just want a girl that is pretty without makeup and good attitude.
