When it comes to romance, cheesy is often good. Many of the romantic things I have done for girls could be considered as cheesy, yet the girl always loved it. So do tell, Jojo. I'll tell you if it's too cheesy.

LOL um o.k. but it is really cheesy...

I had been thinking (ever since I got my purity ring...) that I'd give it to my husband to be... like not to wear on his finger, but maybe on a chain around his neck?? idk... I also have a bracelette my one friend gave me (after I felt likecrap because of a guy...) and it has a heartlock and it basically means, only one guy holds the key to my heart, and I should never give my heart away lightly... so i might give him that too...

Cheesy huh :P

That is cheesy, but also very cute and sweet (I feel awkward saying that). ;)

With the good kind of guy (which, I assume, is the kind of guy you want), the purity ring or the bracelet will have immense meaning and he will totally love it. I wouldn't say it's cheesy (really, what exactly makes something cheesy to being with?). If a girl gave me either of those I'd be incredibly excited.

Aw Jojo, I don't think that's cheesy at all! I love the heart lock one!

My brother and his girlfriend have engagement rings. My brother scrapes a living by his own sweat. So when went out for rings they looked for the cheapest they could get. And they've never complained at all. It's the heart that matters, not the ring! You aren't weird Jojo. I'm the one that's got the strange ideas. I know girls who have the heart locket key thing. My odd thing I do is journal. There's things I want to tell my future husband, and when I'm alone in a crowd I often wonder what it would be like if he were there. What it would be like to have at least one person want me there. So I write. Some day some poor man is going to get a notebook full of letters I wrote for him...before I even met him. Kinda dumb hu?

sometimes He says yes. Sometimes He says no. Sometimes He says wait awhile....

I forgot to add...My parents were hurting for money years ago and had to sell their rings. They were not happy! That was a long time ago and just this last year my grandma gave my mom her wedding ring, its just a white gold band with three tiny tiny stars, but to mom it's beautiful.l Because she wears it for dad. i don't think rings mean as much to a man as a woman! We used to be in a church setting where rings of any kind were not allowed. So to me now, it doesn't matter if I have a ring or not, but the young man I'm friends with now I can tell would really like me to wear a ring if we get engaged. It's HE that wants the world to know I'm his!

Really Nicole? My one small worry is the man won't like reading! ha. but I love writing and do it anyway even if its just to make me feel better now.

I really think so Clare. :) In my opinion, I think he would enjoy just about anything from you, the love of his life. Aww Jojo, I'd give you a hug right now if i could. It's wonderful that you write letters to your future husband! I really think it's a brilliant idea, as much as I am not drawn to do the same thing myself. :P I think when your future husband reads the letters, he'll be completely touched. :)

As a guy, the letter thing is good. If he's a decent guy he'll love it (and if he's not, well, that's your bad).

@ clare and Jo: I write letters too, though obviously in the opposite direction. Been doing so for... a year? a year and a half now? It's been a while, anyhow.

Different? I suppose that depends on your definition. Enough guys aren't romantic that any romantic gesture could be considered different. As far as letters and such, I haven't, though I might start. The stuff I've done is more typical. With my ex, I'd go see her at work and as I left I'd leave a rose on her windshield to surprise her when she got off. Stuff like that.

@ Locke
That's so cool!!! Im sure your future wife will be really touched!!

@ David
That's really sweet!! I'm sure she really appreciated it!

Talking about roses... My bro went all the way from our town to whangarei (approx 2.30 hrs) to buy his (now) girlfriend a rose 4 v-day (the same day I went down to see my guy friend's new car...) and i was telling my guy friend about it and he was all "I just hop the fence next door and get a rose off the bush... saves my stacks of money..." and I was all "i don't really like flowers..." (which is sorta a lie, cuz i do like them, just not bazillions of them everywhere around my house... gran puts them everywhere and i always say "You're killing the poor plants those flowers come from... :P " )
Anyway... that was yet another random story...
Um what do i do thats different...
Oh if I like a guy and he can't afford to do something with the youth (Like going bowling, the theme park, go carting etc) I pay for them... (i got so broke doing that once...)
Um I also cook/bake stuff for them :P its quite funny.

I like that you're willing to pay. A lot of girls aren't and just expect the guy to pay for everything (as if we're made of money). Certainly you shouldn't pay all the time or be made to go broke, but paying some of the time and sharing the financial burden of a relationship will go a long ways.

Honest, thats exactly what i thought... and yes this other guy did pay sometimes, but that was mainly for stuff like drinks (ie Dr Pepper or Coke) or like an icecream etc... I payed for the bigger stuff :P (but bigger stuff only happens like once a month or so :P )
