So there is this guy that I recently met. He's kinda my friend, but like I said I met him recently. Well, he's been very quick to move to the friendship into something I'm uncomfortable with. He keeps hugging me every time he sees me and every time I leave. I'm not a very huggy-touchy-feely girl and plus, I really want to keep the hugging to just family and super close girlfriends. I've made subtle differences, trying to show him I don't want to hug but he's either not picking up on them or ignoring them. He's a nice guy and I don't want to hurt his feelings, but I don't know what to do! Telling him flat out that I don't want to hug him is uncomfortable, especially since the friendship is so new.

Thanks,
H

Basically, I was wondering if anybody had any advice of how to handle/respond to this situation.

Honestly honesty is needed in your situation. It isnt fair to yourself to constantly be uncomfortable its just not right. you need to kindly tell him that your not a physical person generally. Ask him if he respects you as your own person. once he's replied you can kindly ask him to respect you on the touchy tip.
